My March trip to Grand Rapids was short and sweet. I was fortunate enough to be able to tour the Steelcase factory and see how they make chairs by hand. (I love, love, love seeing how things are made!). I also got to tour their LearnLab and hear about all the research they have done on learning and the how culture affects learning. Fascinating. And for the icing on the cake, I was lucky enough to have dinner at a Frank Lloyd Wright house. The Frank Lloyd Wright house that I saw is called the Meyer May house. It has been refurbished by Steelcase. They were lucky enough to get a lot of original pieces for it and what they couldn't get they recreated. The house really is
exactly as Frank Lloyd Wright designed it. I took a TON of pictures but one of my favorites is of me sitting at the dinner table. How cool is that?
