I think I must have had the worst week ever last week with regards to clothing. It started off with me wearing a shirt that I had purchased months and months earlier. I thought I had washed it and hung it in my closet ready to be worn but of course that's not what happened. At dinner (in a restaurant no less), I felt something scratching my neck. I reached up and realized the price tag was still on the shirt! I ripped it off and quickly stuck it in my purse. I think only one person in the restaurant noticed. The guy sitting down the way from me at the sushi bar did give me an odd look. I can't believe I made it all the way to dinner without noticing! Hopefully, it was either tucked in my shirt or my long hair covered it up because no one said anything.
But it gets worse. A couple of days later, I went to work wearing one black shoe and one brown shoe. The black shoe was a Mary Jane style and the brown shoe was a loafer. Not even close. I realized the minute I got to the office. I just took my shoes off and walked around in my socks all morning. I called my sister and asked her to bring me a shoe. She ended up sending her husband. My poor brother-in-law, having to drive my shoe to me. In my defense though, Chris was still asleep when I got ready that morning so I didn't turn on the light. Lesson learned: Even if husband is asleep, turn on all the lights when getting dressed! The next day, I looked at my shoes at least a dozen times before I left the house just to make sure they matched!
But it gets EVEN worse. On Friday, I had a three-hour training class with about 30 of my coworkers. I sat in the back row (of course) and about half way through the class, decided to cross my legs when the unthinkable happened....my pants ripped! They were linen and I've had them awhile so I think the fabric was just weak. They weren't even tight. So, I sat paralyzed with fear for about 20 minutes trying to decide how I was going to get from the back row to the restroom. Finally, I realized there was someone sitting in front of me with a fleece jacket on the back of his chair. I asked if I could borrow it and he said, "Yes, are you cold?" I just mumbled something that sounded affirmative and tied the jacket around my waist. When class was over, he asked if he could have his jacket back and I had to say no! I was forced to tell him why. He was happy he could help me out though.
I can laugh about it now, but what a week!
